#WeLeadComms: Jessica Leigh Evans

Today’s #WeLeadComms spotlight lands on Jessica Leigh Evans, a communications leader and educator based at the Jersey Shore, working remotely across higher ed and corporate communications.

Jessica’s career is a study in range. She currently teaches in the Master of Science in Corporate and Organizational Communication program at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies, developing graduate-level courses on digital-era skills and social media strategy. Before that, she spent over a decade in corporate communications and career services leadership, including a tenure as Director of Marketing and Communications for a professional services firm and several years building employer partnerships at the university level. For twelve years alongside that work, she ran her own social media consultancy, Get Social Promotions, helping small businesses grow their brands through digital strategy, content creation, and SEO.

Jessica’s teaching résumé spans the full developmental spectrum: toddlers, preschool, first grade, elementary art, and middle school language arts, alongside graduate classes at Northeastern. It’s not as far a stretch as it might sound. Whether she’s helping a toddler find words for a feeling, helping a first grader tell the story behind a drawing, or helping a graduate student find the words for a client pitch, the job is the same: meeting people where they are and giving them the tools to be understood.

She also volunteers her strategy skills for ToughPigs.com, a long-running Muppet and Sesame Street fan site, helping the outlet build its professional LinkedIn presence.

“From toddler classrooms to corporate boardrooms to graduate lectures, I’ve spent 25+ years at the intersection of communication, creativity, and learning,” Jessica says. “At every age and every stage, I help humans turn ideas into action.”
