Today’s #WeLeadComms honors go to Nigerian communication leader Chidimma Ugbojiaku.

Chidimma is Assistant Vice President, External & Government Relations, Brand & Corporate Communications for Heirs Energies Limited

She is a seasoned energy sector professional with over 15 years of experience spanning government relations, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement within Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

In her role at Heirs Energies, she leads External and Government Relations, Brand and Corporate Communications, and Sustainability Reporting. She works closely with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks, strengthen institutional relationships, and support responsible and compliant energy operations.

Chidimma is deeply committed to advancing sustainable energy development and strengthening trust between industry, government, and host communities. Her work focuses on building transparent, collaborative relationships that enable long-term value creation for both the business and the communities it serves.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, she is passionate about sustainability, branding, and strategic leadership in the energy sector. She is currently a Dual PhD and DBA researcher at Monarch Business School, Switzerland, with a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in the oil and gas industry. She is also a participant in the MIT Professional Education Innovation Leadership Programme and Chief Sustainability Officer Programme.

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri; a Postgraduate Diploma in Oil & Gas Project Management from the University of Liverpool; and an MBA in Leadership and Strategic Management from the University of South Wales.

Chidimma is driven by a clear purpose: to contribute to the transformation of Nigeria’s and Africa’s energy sector through responsible operations, strong partnerships, and innovative thinking.
