Today’s #WeLeadComms honoree is India-based communication leader and IABC World Conference speaker Prasad Ramasubramanian.
Prasad is a communications professional with over two decades of experience spanning journalism, public relations, and corporate communications. Over the course of his career, he has built a reputation for combining newsroom instincts with strategic communication thinking, an approach that enables him to craft narratives that resonate with both media and modern digital audiences.
Currently, Prasad leads public relations and communications initiatives at Veranda Learning Solutions, a publicly listed education company in India. In this role, he drives the organisation’s external communications strategy, overseeing media relations, leadership visibility, and reputation management. His work focuses on translating complex education and business narratives into stories that engage stakeholders across traditional media, digital platforms, and emerging communication channels.
Before moving into corporate communications, Prasad spent 17 years as a journalist. Those years in the newsroom sharpened his editorial judgment, storytelling ability, and understanding of how narratives evolve in the public domain. This background continues to guide his work in corporate communications, allowing him to approach messaging with both strategic clarity and a deep appreciation for how stories travel through media ecosystems.
Prasad’s professional interests lie at the intersection of storytelling, digital behaviour, and reputation building. As communication increasingly shifts toward mobile-first, scroll-driven consumption, he believes communicators must rethink how messages are structured, timed, and delivered. His work often explores how organisations can adapt their storytelling to shorter attention spans without losing depth, authenticity, or credibility.
In June 2026, Prasad will be a speaker at the IABC World Conference 2026 organised by the International Association of Business Communicators in Toronto. His session, titled “Micro Moments, Macro Impact: Crafting PR Messages for the Scroll Culture,” examines how communicators can design messages that capture attention in the fast-moving digital environment where audiences consume information in fleeting moments.
The session will explore practical strategies for crafting high-impact communication that cuts through information overload: whether through sharper headlines, platform-specific storytelling, or content that aligns with how audiences interact with news and brand narratives today. Drawing from both newsroom experience and corporate communication practice, Prasad will share insights on how communicators can adapt their messaging frameworks to remain relevant in an era defined by endless scrolling.
Through his work and speaking engagements, Prasad continues to advocate for thoughtful, credible, and human-centred communication, reminding communicators that while platforms evolve, the power of a well-told story remains timeless.
