Today’s #WeLeadComms honoree is Copenhagen-based communication leader Idan Levy.
Idan is a Copenhagen-based writer and communications professional with experience across the corporate and non-profit sectors. He is driven by the belief that storytelling can engage people in important causes and create meaningful impact.
Over the past several years, Idan has worked in a range of communications roles, most recently supporting executive and internal communications at Novo Nordisk during a transformative period for the company.
In his first role in Denmark at Copenhagen Capacity, he helped shape the brand and story of the Capital Region of Denmark to attract highly qualified international talent to in-demand sectors. Later, at ICARS, he highlighted on-the-ground stories from low- and middle-income countries to advocate for global cooperation in addressing antimicrobial resistance.
Currently, Idan is focusing on developing his voice as a writer and commentator. He regularly publishes essays and op-eds on Danish politics, foreign affairs, and the expat experience in Denmark, with particular interest in European affairs and the Middle East. His work has appeared in publications such as Politiken and Haaretz, alongside his own platforms.
Idan believes communications is more than disseminating messages across channels. For him, it is a strategic pillar for driving business success, advancing policies, and mobilizing support for meaningful change. People are moved by stories, and understanding audiences, their motivations, emotions, and language, is essential to reaching goals. Awareness and visibility are not enough; effective communication helps people understand, empathize, and ultimately get on board with your story.
