Missouri-based communication leader Aurora Meyer is today’s #WeLeadComms honoree.

Aurora is an award-winning strategic communications leader whose work spans journalism, public relations, marketing, and brand storytelling. With early roots in print and broadcast journalism, she brings a reporter’s commitment to clarity, accuracy, and audience-first thinking to every campaign and communication strategy she leads.

Across her career, Aurora has guided integrated communications efforts in education and nonprofit settings, working closely with executive leaders during complex and often high-stakes moments. She is known for translating policy decisions, operational challenges, and organizational priorities into clear, compelling messages that build understanding and trust. She currently serves in a senior communications role within one of Missouri’s largest school districts, where she leads districtwide messaging, media relations, and community engagement. Her work includes nationally recognized, award-winning campaigns, including a National School Public Relations Association Gold Medallion Award honoring strategic, multi-channel initiatives that strengthened community connection and engagement.

Aurora’s approach blends strong writing and editorial judgment with data-informed strategy and visual storytelling. She is skilled at balancing speed and precision while maintaining high standards for ethical, audience-centered communication.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Aurora regularly teaches and presents for NSPRA and PRSA. Her workshops focus on visual storytelling, accessible design, and practical tools that help teams work more efficiently and creatively. Through this work, she supports professionals as they adapt to changing expectations and strengthen their impact.
