#WeLeadComms: Asha Rajhans

India-based communication leader Asha Rajhans is today’s #WeLeadComms honoree.

In her words:

“Communication, at its best, dissolves complexity into connection. I believe that effective communication builds trust, trust builds relationships, and relationships ultimately drive sustainable business and revenue.

“Over time, I’ve come to realize that communication is as much a science as it is an art; one that demands a careful balance between speed, quality, and credibility.

“My career has spanned diverse organizations and industries, where I’ve learned to approach communication as a disciplined practice. My work in leadership communication, employer branding, culture storytelling, and employee engagement has focused on shaping how messages are experienced through clarity, consistency, and relevance, so that communication reinforces culture rather than merely reflects it.

“A defining phase of my journey was at Amazon, within a dynamic, customer-obsessed culture built on ownership and high standards. Working across leadership communication, internal communications, and internal EVP, I helped leaders translate principles into everyday narratives through contextual framing, tone and deliberate reinforcement to build shared understanding at scale. This experience strengthened my belief that culture is shaped not by campaigns, but by the stories leaders tell consistently and credibly over time.

“Today, as Communication Lead at the Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), my focus is on connecting people to impact. I design communication that invites participation rather than passive consumption, creating space for employees to see themselves in the story, and understand how their individual actions contribute to innovation and patient outcomes. This thinking came to life through You Power MEIC, a people-led narrative that elevated everyday contributions, deepened engagement, and strengthened a sense of shared ownership.”

Looking ahead, my ambition is to continue advancing communication as a leadership capability, one that blends rigour with empathy, builds trust at scale, and helps organizations grow with integrity and purpose.
