#WeLeadComms: Anna Zanetti

Today’s #WeLeadComms honors go to Brussels-based communication leader Anna Zanetti.

In her words:

“I’m a Brussels-based communications professional with a knack for making complex topics land.

“Over the past five years, I have developed a broad and hands-on communications toolkit, spanning strategic messaging, content creation, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and event communications, and I have learnt to deploy it across more nuanced policy environments in Europe. Working at the centre of European policy advocacy, I have experience in turning dense industrial and regulatory narratives into stories that actually resonate with the people who need to hear them.

“My communications toolkit is broad and hands-on. From managing editorial calendars and social media strategies across multiple EU-funded projects, to leading press, digital, and event communications for a pan-European industry association. I am equally comfortable writing a press release, advising a senior executive on messaging before a parliamentary roundtable, or stepping up as a public speaker at an international industry conference.

“I have built my expertise by doing and not just planning. I believe that good communications is about genuine understanding first, messaging second. I am also actively involved in the Brussels communications community, regularly engaging with fellow professionals on topics that matter to the profession. From artificial intelligence to the strategies to make communication more impactful.

“With a double master’s in international relations and over five years of hands-on experience spanning EU policy, mobility innovation, and extractive industries, I bring both analytical rigour and creative instinct to everything I do. I also communicate across English, French, and Italian a linguistic range that mirrors the multicultural, multi-stakeholder world I navigate daily.

“Whether I am crafting a campaign, shaping a narrative under pressure, or simply showing up to a room full of communicators ready to swap honest insights. I lead with curiosity, warmth, and a clear sense of why communications, if done well, genuinely matters.”
