#WeLeadComms: Anna Grace

Today. the #WeLeadComms spotlight falls on California-based communication leader Anna Grace.

Anna Grace’s 30-year strategic communications career has taken her from corporate board rooms to restaurant kitchens to solar panel fields to social justice protests. Her latest destination: the thorny landscape of interpersonal conflict.

Anna launched her corporate career at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta where she coordinated guerrilla marketing teams for Visa. From there, her journey included leadership roles in healthcare, restaurants, enterprise and clean technology. In 2008, Anna left the for-profit world to do advocacy communications in food, environmental, economic, and racial justice.

Through all the twists and turns, Anna’s passion for bringing people together to think differently in order to solve tough problems has been her driving force. For most of her career, this meant using mass communications tools and channels to push out messages about issues she believes in. And while this work remains important, it’s the other side of communications that excites Anna most: listening.

Anna has seen how listening for understanding in conflict situations can open people’s minds in ways no campaign can. Curiosity, compassion, and humility are not “soft” skills; they are strategic tools for transformation. That’s why she started Relate Together (www.linkedin.com/company/relate-together) to combine her strategic communications expertise with her passion for doing conflict better. She offers conflict and communications coaching, training, facilitation and mediation services that expand understanding and possibility for co-workers, coalitions, families, and neighbors in the San Francisco Bay Area and virtually around the world.

Her approach centers empathy, creativity, and clarity, guiding clients through complex, sometimes painful, dynamics toward shared understanding and durable solutions. Anna loves collaborating with other communications pros, so if you or anyone you know needs support navigating conflict or becoming a better listener, she would love to connect.
